Brigantine Beach is located about five miles north of Atlantic City and allows fishing, swimming, and surfing in some beach regions. Unlike some other New Jersey beaches, cooking and eating are allowed on Brigantine making it one of the best beaches to grill out or have a big get-together. If you visit the beach during the offseason – between October and March – you might be able to catch locals riding horses alongside the ocean!

The beach is clean and often uncrowded. Beachgoers enjoy shelling, relaxing, and walking on the boardwalk. Fishermen especially enjoy Brigantine’s fishing pier.

During summer, the city holds free movie nights where everyone is welcome. In addition to packing sunscreen, some visitors have noted that bug spray is a necessity due to the occasional appearance of the Green Headed horse fly.

Because the beach is a hidden gem, some standard amenities such as lifeguards are unavailable. While a $10 beach pass is required at Brigantine Beach, those admission tickets are free if you’re a senior or a veteran.
